Our Story

Our journey started in a small Slovak village in Nitra region, where Stolichki's founders Igor and his wife Evelyn visited his then 93-year-old grandmother. She welcomed them in her humble house and showed them around, but Igor recognised every detail of the house. In the last 35 years, nothing has changed. He spent a lot of time of his childhood playing around the long corridors of this small village house, sitting on Tatra Pravenec chairs, drinking rose hip tea and eating poppy seed strudel made from the fresh local ingredients and poppy seeds harvested directly from his grandmother's garden. The memories came back as soon as Igor entered the living room, which was laid out same as 35 years ago. That's when we realised that the memories and feeling we had from sitting on the same furniture we sat on when we were kids, was what we wanted for everyone to have a taste of. This experience, together with Igor's passion for sustainability, vintage and eco-friendly products, will bring unique pieces of furniture to your homes.
